Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Calculator – Truck Loads

Quality Inspector
Kaka

Calculate the total volume of Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) needed for your slab or foundation and estimate the number of transit mixer truck loads required.

📐 Formula & Method

Truck loads are calculated by dividing the total volume (plus a typical 3% wastage for RMC) by the transit mixer capacity.

Truck Loads = (Total Volume × 1.03) / Truck Capacity

📋 Worked Example

For 20 m³ of concrete using 6 m³ trucks:
• Volume with 3% wastage = 20.6 m³
• Trucks = 20.6 / 6 = 3.43 trucks (order 4 trucks)

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

The most common transit mixer capacity in major cities is 6 cubic metres, though 7 and 8 cubic metre trucks are also used.
Some concrete always remains in the truck drum and pump pipes. Ordering 3-5% extra ensures you don't run short at the very end.
