Beam Concrete Calculator – Cement, Sand & Aggregate
Quality Inspector

Enter your beam dimensions (length, width, depth) and concrete mix grade to compute exactly how much cement, sand, and aggregate you need for pouring the beam.
📐 Formula & Method
The calculation for beams is identical to slabs, taking the Length × Width × Depth to find the wet volume, converting it to dry volume (× 1.54), and then splitting it proportionally based on the selected mix ratio.
Wet Volume = Length × Width × Depth
Dry Volume = Wet Volume × 1.54
Cement, Sand, Agg = Split based on Mix Ratio (e.g., 1 : 1.5 : 3)
📋 Worked Example
For a 5m × 0.23m × 0.3m beam with M20 concrete: • Wet Volume = 0.345 m³ • Dry Volume = 0.345 × 1.54 = 0.531 m³ • Cement = 0.531/5.5 = 0.096 m³ = 2.8 bags
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
In residential construction, beam widths usually match the wall thickness, most commonly 230mm (9 inches) or 115mm (4.5 inches).
For standard material estimation, the 1-2% volume taken up by steel rebar is generally ignored as it acts as a safety buffer for wastage.
